Registered Nurse - Paediatric Oncology and Surgical Unit 
John Hunter Children's Hospital

The John Hunter Children’s Hospital (JHCH), located in Newcastle NSW, offers nurses the opportunity to work in a tertiary level paediatric facility while enjoying the benefits of a lifestyle surrounded by beaches, lakes and bush.  JHCH provides complex medical, surgical, major trauma and neonatal services for Northern NSW. Ward J1 is a dynamic paediatric oncology and surgical unit comprising of 19 inpatient beds with an associated Paediatric Oncology Day Unit (PODU). Ward J1 provides specialist paediatric oncology and surgical services to children from the Hunter New England District, Central Coast and Northern NSW.  

About the role:
The role will be working a rotating roster within the unit providing care to a broad range of patients in a supportive and flexible working environment. You will be experts at providing family centred care and contribute to creating an environment that is culturally safe and reflective of the organisations CORE values- Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. The successful candidates with be offered supernumerary orientation days with engagement from the education team in an ongoing capacity to provide support and ensure learning and development goals are met. Ward J1 is ably supported by an Oncology CNE and CNC and a Surgical CNC, amongst various other speciality services who provide inpatient care within the hospital. JHCH prioritises access to education for nursing staff, creating a culture of learning and utilisation of evidence based practice.

About you:
JHCH is seeking dynamic, caring and motivated Registered Nurses who possess a passion for paediatric nursing within a family centred model of care. Applicants are required to be Cytotoxic credentialed or working towards achieving this. Applicants must be flexible and have the capacity to work various shifts over a 7 day roster.

Job share/part time arrangements will be considered.
