What you'll be doing
Provide safe compassionate person centred care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients.

This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

About the Opportunity

 
  • Join a passionate, multidisciplinary healthcare team and work collaboratively to provide our young patients with safe, person centred care.
  • Working in the small community town of Broken Hill, our staff love that they have the time to really take care of their patients. Once they’re discharged, you will have the time to ring them, offer reassurance and make sure they’re well on their way to living happier, healthier lives.
  • Gain invaluable paediatrics nursing experience in a rural hospital setting.
  • Provide appropriate supervision and/or mentoring for staff, including delegation of care to ENs and AINs according to their competence and within their scope of practice and the supervision of students on clinical placement.

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
