About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking empathetic, driven and family orientated Registered Nurses be a part of the Paediatrics team.

We are seeking nurses who have an interest in working in Paediatric care. Working in this highly regarded area is an exciting opportunity to either start your career in Paediatrics or to build on your current skills.

Our facilities are dedicated to ensuring career progression and you will be strongly supported by experienced RN’s within the Paediatric Team. You will have regular access to CNE’s to support your ongoing development and will have after-hours CNEs, CNS 2s and CNCs to assist you in your journey. We also have extensive support services from AIN’s to wards-people, and our management team is always available for our nurses to speak with and assist you with issues or to share their knowledge.

What You'll be Doing
The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.  

Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
