About your opportunityRegistered Nurse / Permanent part-time / 72 hours p.f.
The role of a Registered Nurse in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is to provide direct and indirect patient focused critical care to ensure the provision of safe, quality, evidence-based and family-centred patient care within the PICU.
About the role

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals, peers and the healthcare team to achieve goals and health outcomes.
• Make appropriate referral to, and consult with peers, other relevant health professionals, service providers, and community and support services.
• Consolidate educational preparation and increase knowledge and skills while moving from beginner to experienced practice.

Generous remuneration package value up to $91,629 p.a. comprising:

• Salary range of $38.96 to $42.62 p.h. (NG5)
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

While not mandatory the below are highly desirable:

• Paediatric Life Support Certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Paediatric Life Support as per Townsville Hospital and Health Service policy Life Support Training and Assessment.
• Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
• Paediatric experience or ICU experience.

Requirements

• It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
• Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
• Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
