Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation Unit

The Rehabilitation ward at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is seeking experienced compassionate Registered Nurses to join their incredible team. Positions are being offered on a permanent full time and part time basis.

Where you'll be working

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is opening an additional rehabilitation ward in early April 2024, and the positions being recruited are within the new ward as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The Rehabilitation ward nursing teamwork with patients to assist them in their rehabilitation, and to reach their highest capability. The unit boasts dedicated staff who work together to provide the evidence-based patient-centred care, teamwork, and regular learning opportunities.

What you'll be doingAssess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient rehabilitation outcomes. Core activities for nurses in Rehabilitation include person-centred assessment, enablement, treatment, education and care. Rehabilitation nurses promote independence and enable patients to focus on their own physical, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions of human function.

The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  3. Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
  4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
