The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurses to join the Ward 20 nursing team at Northern Health.
Ward 20 is located in Northern Health’s newly built tower and is a 32-bed ward that provides care to the Acute Medical and Respiratory care cohort of patients. The ward includes 4 Respiratory Care Unit (RCU) beds; dedicated to providing advanced ward-based, safe, effective, high quality and evidenced-based care to patients with acute respiratory failure. Training and education will be provided to upskill successful candidates.
You will work closely with the NUM and our team of ANUMs to provide excellent patient care, facilitate access and flow, participate in quality initiatives and collaborate with various key stakeholders within the organisation to provide high quality care. The Ward 20 team also place a strong emphasis on education and growing every individual’s skillset. This is a perfect opportunity for a keen nurse to step up into a specialty area and build their clinical skillset in a supported environment.
Full Time or Part Time Permanent positions available.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential:
- Experience and good working knowledge of Acute Medical, Respiratory and COVID Conditions
- Proven ability to work within a team
- Ability to work all shifts on a flexible rotating roster
- Passion to learn and take on new challenges
- Demonstrate excellent communication, time management skills and critical thinking ability
- Problem solving and de-escalation skills
- Adaptable and works well under pressure
- Values consistent with those of Northern Health – Safe, Kind & Together
Desirable:
- Relevant Post graduate qualifications
- Experience working in a Respiratory Care Unit/Ward
