Registered Nurse - Cardiology Day Ward

  • Part Time Fixed Term – 40 hours per fortnight to February 2025

The Royal Melbourne Hospital provides a comprehensive range of Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Cardiac Heart Failure services to patients within Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The Cardiology Day Ward provides pre and post operative care for day case elective cardiology patients. The ward also prepares cardiothoracic patients the week prior and day of surgery. The ward incorporates a pre-admission clinic for cardiology and cardiothoracic patients. It operates Monday to Friday including a mixture of AM/PM shifts.

We are looking for a passionate nurse to join our Cardiology Day Ward team, located at our City Campus in Parkville.

Your new role:

  • Provide high quality patient care as part of an innovative multidisciplinary team.
  • Support and promote preceptorship including undertaking the preceptor role.
  • Keep abreast of new cases and technology in a specialised heart service.

About you:

  • You are an AHPRA Registered Nurse with a strong interest in cardiology and well-developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills.
  • You are patient focused and have great interpersonal skills.
  • You work well in a changing environment, and are able to work AM and PM shifts within our supportive multidisciplinary team.
  • You embrace improvements that lead to high-quality patient outcomes.
