POSITION VACANT

HOSPITAL IN THE HOME REGISTERED NURSE

Ongoing Part-Time – 56-76 hours per fortnight

Available from 5th August 2024

An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to joIN THE Hospital IN THE Home team at Portland District Health.

The primary role is to provide high quality nursing services including assessment of the broader care needs to a culturally diverse community.  The HITH nurse is responsible for improving the health status and independence of the patient and supporting their carer/s IN THEir role, working as part of a team to balance workload and new patient referrals on a daily basis.

About you:

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via AHPRA
  • Preferred skills in PICCs & Port care, IV Cannulation, VACC dressings or a willingness to undergo further training
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-direction, and the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong commitment to high quality care
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat and social media platforms
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Proven ability to liaise with a broad range of staff and stakeholders
  • Current employee police check & employee Vic WWCC
  • Current evidence of immunisation history and serology results

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:

  • Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology

  • Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge
