About The Opportunity

Fairfield Hospital is recruiting a Registered Nurse to complement and enhance the current team in Ward 2A - Surgical/Medical.

Ward 2A is a 22 bed ward which provides services to a variety of patients. It is a medical & surgical ward providing services to surgical, medical, orthopaedic, hands, urology and gynaecology patients.

The ward admits patients from ED/ESSU, other wards, operating theatre and direct admissions from hand clinic and ambulatory care. Ward 2A is highly complex ward admitting approximately 160 patients per month, reporting to both Surgical and Medical Clinical Streams. Ward 2A is a dynamic ward with a Full Time CNE, staff are friendly, always willing to assist and welcome new staff. Ward 2A has a 10hr night shift.

The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

Fairfield hospital is located in one of NSW’s largest LGA’s and is a hub of diverse cultures, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds. How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
