Job description

MARS Recruitment are seeking a Registered or Clinical Psychologist to join a new and innovative paediatric private practice in Cessnock, NSW. Become an essential part of a close-knit and dedicated team who are passionate about improving the lives of children, adolescents and adults!
This MDT consists of a an array of Psychologist's, Social Workers, Mental Health Practitioners and Allied Health Clinicians and Assistants.

This organisation has operating in the Central Coast region since 2016, and due to continued growth and service expansion, they seeking amazing psychologists to join their team in Cessnock!
About the Role

  • Conduct a range of psychological assessments within to individuals across the lifespan.
  • Work with a child to identify their strengths and achievements, helping them develop a positive self-image. Through praise, encouragement, and constructive feedback, you will empower the child to believe in themselves and their abilities.
  • Teach children coping skills to deal with stress, anxiety, or difficult situations. This might include relaxation techniques, mindfulness exercises, or problem-solving strategies. By equipping children with these tools, you will assist them to manage their emotions and navigate challenges effectively.
  • Support children in developing independence and autonomy. This might involve setting achievable goals, encouraging decision-making, and fostering a sense of responsibility.
  • Help children process traumatic experiences or adversity they may have faced. Through therapy and counselling, you will provide a safe space for children to express their feelings, work through their experiences, and develop resilience.
  • You will create assessment reports and have the capacity to document clinical findings effectively.
  • Have the opportunity to run group programs, workshops and training (if desired)
  • Work with early years educators, schoolteachers, community services professionals in a collaborative way
  • Work in a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary model for selected cases
  • Participate in regular team meetings, supervision and team learning days
  • Write and develop information and resources for use by clinicians, parents, professionals and children/young people.
  • Be supported to pursue your clinical interests and passions under a professional development plan.


The Benefits
You will receive:

  • A salary between $90,000 to $120,000 + super + bonus incentives - commensurate with experience.
  • Potential for more senior roles for clinicians with significant psychology experience - pathway to team lead/ senior.
  • A PD fund of up to $3,000 annually
  • Flexible hours and schedule - WFH/Remote - full time and part time.

Who they are looking for?

  • Tertiary level qualification in Psychology - Registered Psychologist
  • AHPRA registration
  • Eligibility to provide NDIS and Medicare services.
  • Experience in or a passion for working with children, youth, families and adults.
  • A strong commitment to your own learning and growth

  • WWCC + NPC
