The Role
An opportunity has become available for two Registrars (Supportive and Specialist Palliative Care Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Participate in patient history taking, examination and diagnosis, including organising appropriate investigations
- Advocate for the patient which includes protecting the patient, being the patients voice, provision of quality care interpersonal relationship as well as educating the patient
- Work in a shared care needs based model that works with generalist Palliative Care providers
- Gather input from appropriate multidisciplinary team members for patients' ongoing clinical care and help to facilitate and coordinate weekly multidisciplinary team case conferences
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
- AHPRA Registration
- While not mandatory, a relevant experience in Palliative Care is highly desirable
- Driver Licence
- Available to work on-call rosters and weekends
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (two positions, up to February 2025)
- Base salary ranging from $125 808 - $145 865 per annum

The Gold Coast Hospital Health Service (GCHHS) Supportive and Specialist Palliative Care Services (SSPCS) hub is located in Robina Hospital where it offers outpatient, telehealth, home, consultancy and inpatient services based on need rather than either disease or prognosis. There is a similar hub based at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH).
