Job description

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 01/11/2024.

Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified and enthusiastic Registrars to our Intensive Care Department to provide a high standard of emergency medical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as well as patients suffering from emergency medical conditions on wards under the supervision of the Head of Department (HOD) or supervising Consultant. You will also assist with the safe transfer of Intensive Care patients to other hospitals.

Area Profile: Rockingham Peel Group (RkPG) is part of the South Metropolitan Health Service, one of the fastest growing health services in Western Australia and comprises two hospital campuses, Rockingham General Hospital (RGH) and Murray District Hospital (MDH), in addition to community and mental health services across Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana. As the flagship hospital, RGH is focused on providing high quality general medical, surgical and mental health services as well as outpatient care. MDH provides post sub-acute services and care awaiting placement.

Unit Profile: 

  • Level 2 ICU, 10 bed ICU with a mix of adult medical and surgical patients.
  • Accredited for Foundation ICU training and 6 months of advanced training for CICM, RACP, ACEM, ANZCA
  • Scope to complete ultrasound training at various levels – from accredited scans for college requirements, up to certificate and diploma courses with ASUM and ESICM. Accredited supervision available.
