Your new role
The Registration Officer determines an applicant's eligibility to apply for a worker check. They obtain information from applicants to establish their identity; review information to determine if an applicant is already registered, and assess if the applicant meets the eligibility requirements to apply. They analyse information and make sound recommendations about the probity of information, what further information may be required and the appropriate course of action. They are comfortable in a high-volume and time-constrained environment. They conduct their role in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. They demonstrate the values of fairness, openness, accountability and respectfulness.

What you'll need to succeed
Key accountabilities

• Conduct timely and quality review and comparison of application information and applicant eligibility.
• Exercise judgement to determine the appropriateness of proof of identity information.
• Determine the appropriate course of action in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Ensure that procedural fairness and customer-focused service is afforded to applicants.
• Make consistent, considered and evidence-based recommendations.
• Ensure appropriate knowledge and adherence to security, privacy and record keeping requirements to ensure accurate and safe collection, storage and use of confidential and sensitive information.
• Manage competing priorities associated with allocated tasks to meet statutory and/or agreed timeframes. Collaborate with peers to ensure consistent practice across the team.

• Experience in the analysis and assessment of data and information in a high volume and time-constrained environment is preferred, but not essential.
• Experience in customer communication and engagement is preferred, but not essential.
• Experience in administrative or regulatory decision-making is preferred, but not essential.
