About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with experience or an interest in regulatory economics that is passionate about the electricity sector to join our team and make an impact in our dynamic Regulation team. 
In this role you will support the development of regulatory strategies that bring together commercial, customer and policy objectives at a time when the energy landscape and associated economic framework are rapidly transforming.
Using your experience in a similar role and your strong analytical skills you will engage with stakeholders in a collaborative and articulate manner, you will be the subject matter expert in this field and work as part of an engaged and motivated team.


What you’ll deliver: 

  • Develop strategies and business cases for the five-yearly revenue setting project, including drafting of regulatory proposals, preparation of costs and benefits and other supporting evidence
  • Analyse the economic and commercial impacts of proposed changes in the regulatory framework and/or guidelines governing the electricity distribution industry
  • Provide advice to the Regulatory Management team and relevant stakeholders on regulatory matters 
  • Assist in the co-ordination and management of materials to support business compliance with regulatory obligations

To succeed in this role you’ll have:

  • A tertiary qualification in economics, finance, law, or public policy  
  • Understanding of regulatory environments, and experience in economic concepts
  • Understanding of quantitative analysis
  • Demonstrated structured and strategic thinking as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience working in a regulator, government, economic consultancy or in a business subject to regulatory oversight is highly regarded
