About the role
Aim:
The Corporate Giving & Signature Events team works to ensure corporate partners choose SCHF as their charity of choice to support research, clinical care, and patient experience.
This position is a 12-month Parental leave cover and will assist in building the corporate portfolio by identifying mid to high value partnerships that align with Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network’s (SCHN) Investment Prioritisation Framework (IPF) and other key programs and initiatives of SCHF. The position will manage and work to expand a portfolio of corporate donors as well as engage new and lapsed donors with the capacity to give $20k to $2m plus per annum by securing multi-year partnerships.
As member of the corporate team, this position identifies and implements a series of activities through whatever channels are deemed best. By working closely with other teams in the Philanthropy & Engagement departments, this role will deliver donor-centric activities that reinforce engagement and provide acquisition opportunities and/or donor recognition.
The key accountabilities of the role include portfolio development and management, high-level stakeholder engagement, teamwork and administration.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising:
- Deliver to income target between $1.5m - $2m per annum
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of 50+ prospective and current donors at the $20,000+ level.
- Develop and execute high-quality stewardship plans, maintaining detailed records, for assigned prospects that sustain successful relationships
- Develop and implement multi-year funding agreements focused on high value donors for 6-7 figure partnership agreements.
- Pitch a minimum of 10 multiyear funding opportunities.
- Conduct a minimum of 8 prospecting meetings per quarter.
- Reengage a minimum of 4 lapsed donors per year.
- Engage in research to identify and appropriately engage new prospects.
- Match funding opportunities to donor interests to maximise donation potential.
Teamwork & Administration:
- Work collaboratively and synergistically with peers and colleagues across SCHF.
- Collaborate by actively participating in working groups and Foundation activities/events to support the SCHF strategy
- Support the Corporate team, Philanthropy team, and the wider Foundation team in delivering personal and team KPIs.
- Utilise CRM to maintain accurate and up to date information on donor relationships by logging all activity including calls, emails and meetings.
- Utilise CRM to keep sales pipeline, forecasts and year on year donor performance updated for sales reporting and highlighting any potential risks or opportunities.
- Create and maintain donor journey for top 20 on financial year rolling basis
- Communicate the impact of corporate funding through acquittal and impact reports.
- Work/ collaborate with teams across SCHF to deliver on expectations & existing agreements with corporate donors. e.g. Press, Media, Social, Impact reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate confidently, respectfully, and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, SCHN contacts, donors, patients and their family members, other staff, and Ambassadors/ celebrities
- Build and maintain a personalised relationship with each Corporate Partner built on mutual respect.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the corporate communication and stewardship plan by determining donor-centric communication channels, identifying touch points and producing content
- Ensure funds are used in accordance with funding agreements, and Foundation reporting requirements are met
- Develop and maintain relationships with SCHN beneficiaries including clinicians, departments, and other key stakeholders as primary or secondary leads through regular meetings and communications with the aim of making them champions for philanthropy
- Occasionally attend out of hours events or corporate functions – as and when needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Successful track record in managing a portfolio of high net organisations
- Successful track record in sourcing new business and business development
- At least five years’ experience in a similar role demonstrating a client focused approach, with the ability to communicate individually and collectively to a group of donors.
Functional / Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Proven ability to plan, develop, deliver and monitor large projects with evidenced success in achieving agreed outcomes and timelines while maintaining healthy relationships.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate, be persuasive and develop trust, and manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders across all levels and from varying backgrounds.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to problem solve, multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Proven high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write high quality cases for support/prospectus and make engaging presentations.
- Ability to pivot bringing solutions and alternatives to the table when negotiating with donors and within SCHF.
- Ability to engage with Social Media platforms including Linked In, Facebook and Instagram for business.
- Experience managing and working within budgets
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and to collaborate across teams to achieve enhanced outcomes.
- High level computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite and previous experience using CRM databases.
- Drivers licence plus access to own vehicle for occasional travel.
