The purpose of the Reliability and Performance Engineer is to develop and implement Reliability System improvements for the QantasLink Dash 8 CAMO approvals as required for the De Havilland Dash 8 Approved Maintenance Program (AMP). This program will involve; Component Time Limit analysis and adjustment recommendations to the System of Maintenance as required/On-condition/Condition monitoring. Non-routine maintenance findings analysis/investigation and follow-up action. These provide the required enhancements to support the AMP. The systems and processes are required to be developed within this position, followed by lifecycle trend analysis of all required data which is then used for the De Havilland Dash 8 Reliability Review Board. This is essential in maintaining fleet continuing airworthiness, achieving the AMP benefits and fleet operational targets. Effective liaison with key stakeholders and reporting within the Reliability Review Board and AMP forums is essential.
Reporting to the De Havilland Fleet Manager and Continuing Airworthiness Manager, the position is responsible for working with key engineering stakeholders to provide support in reviewing business unit results, providing analysis, key insights and strategic direction on business performance.
The successful candidate will:
Identify opportunities for Dash 8 performance and reliability improvements and drive the appropriate change throughout the business unit while also influencing key stakeholders, and ensuring buy-in and alignment on key outcomes
Ability to form coherent and logical aircraft and component performance and reliability view based on data analysis.
Analyse vast amounts of data related to aircraft performance, maintenance records, and reliability metrics. You should possess strong skills in data analysis, including the ability to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques is highly desirable for this role.
Coach and guide team members and provide the technical oversight necessary to accomplish work.
Identifies areas of risk and remediation strategies, or escalates as necessary.
Strong report writing skills are essential for documenting analysis results, summarizing key findings, and presenting technical information in a clear and concise manner. Attention to detail, clarity of expression, and the ability to tailor communication to different audiences are important attributes for success in this aspect of the role.
Drive the achievement of planned completion dates for Reliability and Performance analysis and liaise with cross-business areas as required.
Continuously assess systems and processes in order to provide recommendations on improvements to established program policy and procedures.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Have a Tertiary degree in Engineering or a related technical degree
Strong understanding of MSG3 and Reliability Centred Maintenance concepts.
Strong competency with PC office software packages, and other applicable engineering software.
Experience with programming in Access/Excel to support the ongoing development of the relevant databases/applications is beneficial.
Experience with company computer mainframe applications including TRAX.
