About Us: The Centre for People, Place & Planet is a Strategic Research Centre at Edith Cowan University. It was established in January 2021, and it is co-hosted by the School of Science and the School of Education.
The vision of the Centre is to reconnect people, ecosystems, and place-based knowledges for universal well-being.
Our mission is to conduct transdisciplinary research using participatory methodologies in the context of global environmental change.
The Role: This position is responsible for supporting the Director and other research staff working within the Centre for People, Place and Planet across a broad range of administrative and research support functions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide executive assistance to Directors (senior leadership team)
- Scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, preparing minutes of meetings, all in consultation with designated chair
- Maintaining and organising files on Teams (including applications, membership, all things for the final report)
- Drafting quarterly and annual reports, and attending to other reporting needs as required
- Maintaining clear and professional communications among, and with, CPPP members, and others as required
- Maintaining monthly update of CPPP expenditure against annual budget
- Procurement for CPPP members
- Qualifications: Diploma or equivalent level of expertise plus subsequent experience OR equivalent gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
- Experience in providing high-level administrative support within a large organisation. Highly proficient with Microsoft suite of products.
- Taking ownership of the task and the outcome by demonstrating initiative and commitment towards the completion of predetermined objectives, while focusing on an outcome that contributes to job and university success. Includes the ability to balance and prioritise tasks without losing sight of desired outcomes and remaining proactive.
- The ability to organise and present information, views and concepts in a concise, understandable and interesting format for a variety of audiences.
- Work individually and with others within the work unit to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency using the available resources, while trying to minimise waste of resources and effort.
- The ability to work cooperatively with others to accomplish joint tasks and common objectives. Involves building positive working relationships with other and avoiding “win-lose” confrontations and a focus on preserving and strengthening the ongoing relationship.
- Proven experience in budget management and finance reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products
- Commitment to operating flexibly and collaboratively in a small team.
- Willingness to work across all metropolitan campuses.
- Experience in coordinating and working within a range of projects and events at any one time.
Overview

Benefits & Remuneration
This part-time fixed term position attracts a remuneration of $78,854 (pro rata) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
