The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Research Analyst to join Urbis's Economics & Property (E&P) team. As a Research Analyst in the Economics & Property team, you will support the broader team by undertaking research for consulting projects in the retail, commercial, industrial, mixed-use and residential sectors across the national team.

You will be: 

  • Undertaking field research to obtain preliminary data and knowledge across a wide range of sources and networks;
  • Undertaking qualitative and quantitative analysis from research materials;
  • Collating and analysing data and presenting insights to assist the team in delivering evidence-based advice to clients;
  • Using appropriate tools such as GIS, internal databases and Microsoft Office to extract, populate and manipulate data;
  • Assisting in proposal, report and advice preparation;
  • Effectively undertaking most components of basic analyses independently, including appropriate use of definitions, inputs, calculations, data sources, systems, procedures, basic level forecasts and others as directed;
  • Handling most components of basic analyses accurately independently, with a high level of attention to detail including trade area definitions, tenant schedules, current population and socioeconomic, performance drivers and benchmarking, competition analysis, basic level forecasts, market shares, rent and turnover analyses;
  • Preparation of reports, meeting notes, newsletter style information and correspondence;

About You: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Property Economics, Economics, Commerce, Town Planning, Business, Finance or a related discipline
  • A high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel with skills in Power Pivot Tables & Charts.
