Why Your Role Matters:
The Research Associate position is situated in the School of Science at UNSW Canberra and will undertake research on a Discovery Project funded by the Australian Research Council. The project seeks to advance our understanding of the theory and applications of lattices in number theory.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
- contribute independently or as a team member in collaborative research with a focus to enhance the quality of research outcomes in the Number theory group at UNSW Canberra.
- produce collaborative publications in leading international mathematical journals.
- undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to development of research activities.
- Participate in and present their research findings at domestic and international conferences and seminars.
- Assist with the supervision and mentoring of PhD students in the Number theory group at UNSW Canberra.
Who You Are:
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A PhD degree in Number Theory
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- An outstanding track record of research publications.
- Demonstrated high-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be required to work from the UNSW Canberra campus. To be successful you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
