IMHIP-Youth is a project aimed at developing, implementing and evaluating a model of social and emotional wellbeing care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people who experience youth detention. In this vital role, you will support research activities, including participant interviewing, data collection, project support, and progress reporting to Chief Investigators. Success in this role will be achieved through fostering strong working relationships with multidisciplinary research teams, participants, namely Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people who experience youth detention, and key stakeholders. Please note that this role will require the successful incumbent to work on site from the Brisbane City location, and include travel to the detention centres located in Wacol for data collection.Key responsibilities will include:Working within a multidisciplinary team to support service evaluation activities.Surveying and interviewing young people (10-17 years of age) of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent who have experienced youth detention in South East Queensland.Collect data, participant questionnaires and perform study specific assessments from participants at scheduled timepoints as described in the research study protocol.Perform data entry and maintenance of study specific data management systems.Providing general research support, such as assistance in data management, analysis, writing activities, and presentationsAssist with routine team administration, including organising meetings and minute-takingThis is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through until 31st May 2025. At HEW level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,099.39 - $94,512.08, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $103,076.28 - $110,579.13 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.About YouTertiary qualification in public health, epidemiology, social science, psychology, social work, community development, or related field, or equivalent experience/training.Experience in research processes relevant to social and emotional wellbeing and youth health.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations.Understanding of the importance of high-quality data and ability to support data collection and management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including contributing to reports or journal articles.Experience working in criminal justice settings and/or with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
