Manage the operations of the National Health and Medical Research Council certified Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Human Research Ethics Committee in accordance with organisational goals, guidelines, the National Statement and relevant legislation pertaining to human research in Australia.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Research Ethics and Governance Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Coordinate the Human Research Ethics Committee and provide timely and high-level coordination
- Liaise with staff and researchers on technical and operational issues and advice accordingly
- Provide high level administrative and management support to stakeholders
- Work with Clinical research monitoring staff to perform regular audits/reviews of all protocols
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification in an appropriate (health science) discipline and demonstrated relevant equivalent experience (clinical, health, research or ethics knowledge) would be well regarded.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (1 position, 15.20 hours per fortnight) and temporary full time (1 position, 6 months with a possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $4 516.20 - $4 837.70 per fortnight or $59.42 - $63.65 per hour
