The Opportunity
This role will support the daily farm operations at Westbrook Pig Research Facility, ensuring exceptional care for all animals, encompassing livestock management, facility maintenance, and research project assistance.
Reporting to the Farm Manager, some key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in daily care of pigs: feeding, weighing, moving, treating
- Handle animals confidently, contribute to teamwork
- Maintain cleanliness of animal accommodations
- Monitor animal health, administer medications
- Uphold workplace health and safety, collaborate effectively
- Maintain experimental animals, record findings, ensure quality control
Who We Are Looking For
SunPork has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team that is dedicated to producing high quality, sustainable welfare-optimal products.
As a key member of this team, the successful applicant must have:
- Certificate III in Agriculture or a higher qualification (desirable but not essential; training will be provided to achieve Certificate III)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Experience managing data records
- Driver’s licence
