We are seeking an experienced postdoctoral scientist in Atmospheric Modelling to contribute to a new high-resolution coupled modelling system, focusing on atmospheric convection and weather-climate interactions. Funded by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Weather of the 21st Century, this role offers networking opportunities and involvement in cutting-edge climate research.Your responsibilities will include:
- Significantly contribute towards the research effort of the Centre's Modelling Science Team and develop research expertise with an increasing degree of autonomy.
- Conduct internationally competitive research, resulting in publications in high impact journals.
- Contribute to training, scientific mentoring and supervision of students.
- Actively participate at Centre and School meetings and contribute to planning activities or committee work within the Centre, School and discipline.
You will ideally have a strong aptitude for independent research with a solid publication record and the ability to prepare reports. Additionally, you should demonstrate a desire to build an academic career, excel in communication and collaboration, and possess strong organizational skills to meet deadlines efficiently.You will also have:
- Completed a PhD in Atmospheric science or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in Atmospheric Modelling, including model experimentation.
- Demonstrated experience with high-performance computing, including working on large codes in a version controlled environment.
- A demonstrated aptitude for independent research, with a sound publication record in relevant areas, commensurate with experience and opportunities.
