The Opportunity

As a Research Fellow, you'll be at the forefront of optimizing access to guideline-recommended treatments for individuals with chronic lung disease. Your responsibilities will include conducting qualitative interviews, facilitating focus groups and consumer co-design workshops, and contributing to systematic reviews. You'll also play a crucial role in collecting quantitative data in clinical studies involving people with chronic lung disease, preparing ethics submissions, and crafting manuscripts for publication.

We're seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in clinical research and a genuine interest in chronic lung disease and supportive care. In this role, you'll work closely with the Group Lead, coordinating research efforts, supervising students, and contributing to grant preparation. Reporting to the Senior Research Fellow in Immunology, you'll have the opportunity to lead and support research initiatives while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent research experience
  • Proficiency in collecting and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Strong manuscript and research proposal preparation skills, with a track record of published research
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching research staff, with demonstrated leadership capability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and statistical software
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice requirements and adherence to research guidelines
  • Experience conducting research involving participants with chronic health conditions

If you're ready to contribute to cutting-edge research in chronic lung disease care and support, we encourage you to apply. Join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by chronic respiratory conditions.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at Monash. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse people, and people of all genders, sexualities, and age groups.

Be part of our story. Work with us to #ChangeIt.

Monash avidly supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements. We have a range of policies in place enabling staff to combine work and personal commitments. This includes supporting parents.

Your employment is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all pre-employment and/or background checks required for the role, as determined by the University.

Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to 'How to apply for Monash Jobs'.
