The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Research Officer to be part of our South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Research Officer is part of the Agronomy Program in the Crop Sciences research Division within the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI).
The role contributes to delivering SARDI’s priority of leading and conducting innovative research to increase productivity of our primary industries for the benefit of South Australia.
The primary purpose of the role is to deliver externally funded research projects focused on low rainfall mixed farming systems by the SARDI Agronomy program.
Based at the Minnipa Agricultural Centre (MAC), the Research Officer will contribute to delivering agronomy-based research projects, under the direction of Senior Research Scientist, Crop Agronomy (MAC).

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- Opportunity up to March 2025 or longer upon project requirements
- This role is located at Minnipa Agricultural Centre
- Possession of a current driver’s license and willingness to drive is required.
- The incumbent will be required to drive a four-wheel drive.
- Some out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- You acknowledge your work, health, and safety obligations and our expectations.
- A Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain will be required.
- A current Chemcert Certificate or willingness to obtain one will be required.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
PO1 - $67,466 min - $82,359 max per annum, plus superannuation
