About the role:

As a Researcher at the Climate Council you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of Australia's best researchers, communicators and policy thinkers on climate science and solutions.

As a Researcher you will be a core member of the Solutions Team, undertaking research and policy analysis for high impact publications, while supporting the Climate Council’s broader climate communication, campaigns and advocacy work.

This is a permanent full time role. Full time workload is 38 hours a week, with the ability to work outside of normal business hours as required on occasion. We are open to flexible work options, let us know how you like to work.

This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra.

For this role, we are looking for you have:

  • 2+ years experience working as a researcher in the context of climate change, climate policy, public policy, transport sector decarbonisation or similar fields
  • The ability to work within a fast paced organisation and manage dynamic and competing priorities.
  • Experience producing high quality, accurate publications or written work on climate science or policy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to a lay audience
  • An eagerness to continuously build in-depth subject matter expertise in climate solutions, particularly in the transport sector as one of the most important areas for addressing the climate challenge
