Residential Site Manager

  • $100-125k p.a. + Super (subject to experience)
  • Company car provision, or car allowance in lieu

  • 20 days annual leave p.a. + 10 days personal leave p.a.

  • Working Hours: Typically 7am – 4pm Monday to Friday (you may be required to work outside these hours)

Built MG is a newly-established building company borne out of corporate restructure of Melisi Projects, which has been operating for more than 20 years in the successful delivery of residential dwellings & low-rise developments in a number of locations across Adelaide. The origins of the company are family-based and this is strongly entrained in our culture – we are a tight, family-knit team and are heavily invested in our people. With a number of recently awarded contracts and a full pipeline of works for the foreseeable future, we are experiencing rapid growth and are looking to grow our team. We seek a driven and experienced Site Manager to take on all townhouse construction at one of the many community developments we are engaged in across town, including:

About the role:

We’re searching for a Site Manager to oversee boundary-to-boundary, medium-density townhouse construction at one the masterplanned community developments we’re engaged on. The successful candidate will be responsible for approximately 40 active sites at any one time, all typically within the same development.

The role includes the following responsibilities: 

  • Management of day-to-day construction activity.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and control of the project from construction commencement through to completion and handover.
  • Maintain works productivity to ensure progress keeps up with baseline schedules and productivity-based KPI’s.
  • Plan and efficiently organise the site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is fit for purpose and only operated by appropriately trained staff.
  • Coordinate and monitor material transport and delivery to site, checking deliveries against material orders and ensuring that damaged or unsuitable materials are returned to vendor.
  • Monitor material usage and provide feedback to procurement team on material over- or under-supply.
  • Monitor all subcontractor activities and performance, ensuring all works comply with Code and all other relevant standards and regulations.
  • Liaison with design team to update working drawings as required.
  • Liaison with project administrator to ensure project information is being distributed to suppliers and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Ensure site cleanliness and presentation is maintained at all times, ensuring that subcontractors manage waste generated by their work scopes.
  • Attend and participate in construction meetings with Client.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all key stakeholders, including but not limited to purchasers, clients, Council representatives, service authority representatives, subcontractors, suppliers and local members of the public.
  • Implement quality control checklists and rectification procedures as required by Company protocol.
  • Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with EPA and clients’ expectations
  • Undertake all relevant training and development activities as required.

Requirements for the role:

We’re seeking a hard-working individual who is an efficient communicator, well-organised and with excellent problem-solving capacity. We’re also specifically looking for someone that will fit into our company culture, which is typified by a tight-knit, team-orientated approach to business operations. Specifically, the successful candidate will have:

  • A Building Trade Certificate or tertiary education in Construction Management
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in medium density residential construction
  • Considerable knowledge of the basic methods, practices, tools, materials, and work standards related to the building of residential homes
  • The ability to identify defects or problems proactively and take the necessary actions to rectify or prevent problems in an efficient manner
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and planning abilities with a passion for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, and additional safety management software will be looked upon favorably
  • Current Drivers Licence
