Key Responsibilities:
As a Restaurant General Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations including but not limited to:
- Restaurant Management
- Implementing and maintaining standards to ensure exceptional customer experiences in cleanliness, hospitality, accuracy, maintenance, product quality, and speed of service.
- Developing and executing strategies to drive sales growth and achieve financial targets.
- Monitoring and managing inventory levels to optimise product availability and minimise waste.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to execute promotional activities and enhance brand visibility.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including OH&S, food safety regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Shift Management
- Effectively managing allocated shifts to ensure sales, operating efficiency, and profitability targets are met while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Directing the activities of employees to maximise sales and operating efficiency in a safe working environment.
- Handling customer complaints and resolving issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Conducting regular audits to assess compliance with operational standards and identify areas for improvement.
- People Management and Development
- Recruiting, training, and developing a high-performing team, including assistant managers, to deliver excellent service and achieve business objectives.
- Providing coaching and feedback to team members to foster their professional growth and development.
- Conducting performance evaluations and implementing performance improvement plans as necessary.
- Ensuring a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, communication, and mutual respect among staff members.
- General Administration
- Managing financial resources effectively, including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling costs.
- Overseeing administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll processing, and record-keeping.
- Handling day-to-day operational issues and making informed decisions to optimise restaurant performance.
- Liaising with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Adhering to company policies and procedures and ensuring that all employees are aware of and comply with them.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in QSR retail or service industry, preferably in a similar role.
- A minimum of a Diploma in Management or equivalent qualification.
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate required.
- Working knowledge of industrial awards relevant to local area required.
- Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in operations management and business administration for a minimum of 2 years required, with responsibility for achievement of operational targets (i.e. sales and profit), people management and procedural compliance.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- A high focus on OH&S and customer satisfaction.
- The ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- A valid driver's license and access to a car for travel.
