The Restructuring & Insolvency team in Australia is part of the firm's Global Restructuring Group, which is one of the world’s leaders.
Acting for an enviable client list including major banks and other lending institutions, debtors, leading insolvency practitioners, trustees, shareholders, distressed debt and asset buyers and investors, senior executives and government entities.
Position Description
This role will see you working very closely with an experienced partner. Given you will be a key resource within the team supporting the partner and the other members in the team, the opportunity presents unparalleled potential for career development and a large amount of autonomy and responsibility.
You will gain exposure to a range of matters including:
- credit risk reduction and management;
- creditors' rights and obligations;
- cross-border restructuring and insolvency advice;
- investigations and examinations by ASIC, administrators and liquidators;
- voluntary administrations, liquidation and insolvency litigation;
- non-lending loss litigation for financial institutions;
- standstill arrangements;
- voluntary administrations, receiverships and liquidations;
- asset management and asset structuring solutions;
- distressed debt markets and distressed asset acquisition;
- restructuring strategies as an alternative to formal insolvency appointment;
- recovering assets for creditors in bankruptcy proceedings; and
- corporate turnaround and restructuring solutions
The successful applicant will be a lawyer with 3-5 years experience in litigation, ideally with a focus on insolvency and restructuring.
