Retail interior Draftsperson - SolidWorks

We are excited to announce the opportunity to join our team as SolidWorks CAD Design Draftsperson with an immediate start. 

As a SolidWorks CAD Design Draftsperson, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate design CAD drafting tasks within a team or department. You will be expected to be fully proficient with SolidWorks 3D modelling software. Your duties will include offering technical direction, guaranteeing the creation of precise and top-quality drawings, 3D models, and assemblies. Working closely with the retail team, project managers, and other stakeholders, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient completion of drafting projects, their alignment with design specifications, and adherence to industry standards.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Assist industrial designers and engineers in developing fixture concepts, manufacturing documentation, assemblies and BOM’s for retail store interiors. 
• Coordinate and Prioritize drafting tasks from an evolving WIP
• Work with overseas suppliers to perform document QC and provide manufacturing support
• Review and interpret engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements to ensure accurate translation into mechanical drawings. 
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all drawings
• Participate in design review meetings and provide input on design changes and improvements.  
• Monitor projects progress, track deadlines and provide regular updates to project managers.
• Stay updated on industry trends
• Develop and maintain good business relationships with our team, customers and suppliers.  
• Responsibilities within your area for continuous improvement and WHS&E obligations.
• Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: A Diploma or  Degree in CAD design, drafting related field is preferred.  
• Experience: Significant experience working as a CAD draftsperson, with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in CAD software: Proficient in 2D and 3D modelling  in  SolidWorks with advanced knowledge of drafting techniques and software functionalities. 
• Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of drafting principles, manufacturing processes and industry standards.
• Proven leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks. 
• Flexibility to work extended hours. 
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite products. 

Desirable

• Experience in a retail environment 
• Experience in software macro and tools development. 
• Knowledge of the retail landscape
