Position summary:
The Retail Manager will oversee all of the daily operations of the store. They will manage the store’s employees, including hiring, firing, performance evaluation, scheduling and assigning duties and responsibilities. They will oversee the operational and organisational standards of the store as well as implement the marketing, advertising and financial strategy dictated by upper management. The Retail Manager will regularly review stock levels and service standards and financial data of the store, to ensure the store and staff are meeting their quotas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that staff deliver high quality service to all customers in all areas of the business.
- Organise regular staff meetings and encourage staff to contribute to discussions.
- Develop a proactive, positive culture in store in line with Tucker Fresh vision and values.
- Create rosters, approve timesheets and leave request.
- Effectively and responsibly delegate within the supermarket
- Lead by example in all areas of management
- Set the standard where “every local is loved.”
- Establish customer input procedures.
- Monitor the weekly financial reports and KPI’s.
- Analyse the monthly departmentalised financial accounts and key performance indicators.
- Ensure a safe workplace through proper risk management in accordance with OSH guidelines.
Skills & Experience:
- Recent relevant supermarket retail experience
- Be passionate about customer service and maintaining high standards.
- Have demonstrated history in performing to targets, working with budgets and maintaining supermarket best practice.
- Be a proven leader who is driven to provide your team a supportive, encouraging, safe and positive team based working environment.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively.
- To be active – you’ll be on your feet for long periods of time and may require some moderate to heavy lifting and reaching.
