As a Retail Sales Consultant, your role is required to assist customers in identifying choice products, providing product information, and offering advice on products that will best meet the customer’s requirements. To be successful in this position, a high level of professionalism must be demonstrated when serving customers and speaking with fellow team members.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth guidance on product information and selection, and offer service advice to help customers in decision making
- Quote, order, invoice, and liaise with customers and staff from external organisations
- Assist with ‘new build’ selections
- Liaise with manufacturers and their representatives, in conjunction with the marketing team, to ensure new stock is introduced to the showroom
- Assist with maintaining store equipment and monitoring of inventory
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualification, experience, or ability to work in, a customer service/retail role
- Selling and negotiating abilities preferred but not essential
- Computer literacy
- Focused and results driven
- Great listening skills and ability to communicate effectively and clearly
Skills and Competencies
- Customer service skills
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills, be cross trained across departments, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Be a team player and possess a friendly and positive demeanour
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Willingness to work rostered Saturdays
