About the role
As the Revenue Accountant, you will playa key role in our Financial Control function, assisting the financial controls team in the delivery of a range of financial services, including asset accounting, revenue accounting, treasury, financial transactional services, compliance and financial policy services.
As the Revenue Accountant, you will be providing leadership, technical expertise, controls and documented procedures to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all revenue streams of Parks Victoria. You will provide support to stakeholders and management on a range of revenue interpretation and recommendations. This includes but is not limited to financial compliance, performance, trends, and emerging issues. The position also provides strategic advice to stakeholders to assist the improvement in the financial performance of operations, through the monitoring of revenue against budget and forecast. You will be an effective communicator who can engage with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
We're looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification in finance or accounting, together with a membership of a professional accounting body such as CPA Australia, CA or ANZ required
- Demonstrated experience in application of Australian Accounting Standards for Revenue recognition including AASB 15 - Revenue from Contracts with Customers and AASB 1058 - Income of Not-for-Profit Entities
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to negotiate effectively, resolve complex issues Demonstrated analytical skills and technical report writing skills
