Risk Fundamental Analyst

As a member in the Risk Fundamentals Chapter, you are integral as a risk advisor for the Consumer Finance (CF) business to effectively manage and optimise its operational risk and compliance control environment under the guidance of your Chapter Lead and fellow chapter members. You will achieve this through partnering with business, risk and compliance experts to deliver foundational risk services including profiling, control advice, issue and incident management, risk governance and reporting.

CF supports CBA customers who need access to credit by offering a range of options including personal, business and corporate credit cards, personal loans, lines of credit and CBA’s buy now pay later (BNPL) StepPay. The Risk Fundamentals Chapter within the RBS Chief Controls Office supports CF crews, including product, credit risk and customer remediation functions. Your role in this Chapter is to assist CF to operate within risk appetite, maintain a robust control environment and adhere to Operational Risk and Compliance (OR&C) Management Frameworks. You will work with the CF Risk Business Partners and other Risk Fundamentals Chapter members to contribute to recommendations to improve business processes, controls, systems and procedures to identify and/or limit risks, including monitoring of risk appetite.
On any given day, you will:

• Support the CF Risk Fundamentals Chapter to ensure timely management of issues and incidents, root cause analysis, action planning and control design.
• Work with your Chapter Lead and chapter members to provide senior leaders with key information for the quarterly planning process.
• Support with the preparation of Non-Financial Risk Sub-Committee reporting
• Monitor key risk indicators and data quality metrics to ensure risks are managed within appetite and compliance with the OR&C Management Frameworks is maintained.
• Support with execution of CF owned controls
• Drive proactive compliance and risk management culture within the business.
• Support the business with compliance with Group Policies

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Some understanding and experience in operational and compliance risks within banking and are passionate about risk management.
• Strong planning, organising, evaluating and problem-solving skills with high levels of motivation and drive.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
• A curious mindset with the ability to use judgement and think critically.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
