About the Role
The Program Manager plays a vital role in CFA's transformation journey. With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, CFA is working to cultivate a culture where every member feels valued and empowered to thrive. Consequently, CFA's Diversity and Inclusion Team has developed a comprehensive strategy for 2023-2025.
As part of this initiative, several CFA facilities will undergo modifications and upgrades to better support gender diversity and inclusion. The Land and Building Services (LBS) team, a component of the Infrastructure Services Department, has been entrusted with the responsibility of delivering this vital component of the strategy.
The primary objective is to enhance 41 fire stations and 3 regional training campuses to accommodate the needs of a diverse workforce and provide enhanced safety and privacy for members.
These upgrade works will be carried out across Victoria during the next 2 years delivering stations and training campuses with contemporary facilities designed to simulate real-world firefighting scenarios. The Program Manager (Construction) will play a lead role in overseeing all facets of the various projects within the program.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or significant program/project management skills/experience of construction programs are mandatory.
- Superior project management expertise in program management and procurement experience applied to the delivery of construction programs in a complex environment with the ability to influence and build organisational and team capability in this field.
- Ability to prepare and present exceptional, professional, concise and insightful project management reporting and briefing materials for senior management.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to successfully develop relationships, manage and influence stakeholder engaging with both internal and external parties at all level of organisations.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to manage complex issues and projects to develop innovative solutions and provide authoritative advice on complex organisational problems.
- High level understanding and experience in risk management with the ability to identify and manage a broad range of risks and business dependencies with strong skills in negotiation, influencing, networking, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Political acumen and a mature understanding of, and commitment to, the complexities and protocols of Government and Industrial Relations processes with the ability to provide influential recommendations to CFA senior management.
