DM Roads has a fantastic new opportunity to join our Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (VRMC). On behalf of the Department of Transport and Planning we deliver routine maintenance, emergency response and planned work services to more than 8,500 lane kilometres of road in Victoria's Hume Region, stretching from Mitchell Shire on the edge of metropolitan Melbourne to the north-east corner of the State.
We have an exciting full-time opportunity available for a Road Maintenance Workerto join our Road Maintenance team based out of Wangaratta, VIC.
In this role you will assist our Road Maintenance teams and support our road users by maintaining all types of road infrastructure, including:
Sealed Pavements, Unsealed Pavements, Safety Barriers, Rest Areas, Vegetation, Structures and Roadside areas.
The types of works you will be involved with includes:
Pavement patching (potholes & dig outs), network inspections, road signage installation and repair, traffic control, bridge maintenance, litter collection, drain clearing and plenty of other Road Maintenance activities. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in seasonal work including grass mowing in the late spring and snow clearing in the winter.
What you'll bring
- A strong motivation to help our community through quality maintenance practices
- Current Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid licence
- Construction Induction / White Card (essential)
- TMA experience & Traffic Control tickets (highly regarded)
- Proven ability in the operation of mobile plant, machinery and equipment, particularly within the Road Maintenance and pavement industry (desirable)
- Availability to work night shift, emergency call outs, and weekends when required
- A commitment to safety and Zero Harm policies
