Job description

  • Be part of our exciting Technology journey
  • Fixed term opportunity until Nov 2024 in Data Platforms and Process Automation team.
  • Level 6: $127,902 + Super + Benefits
About the role
Why automate manual, repeatable tasks?
Taking them away from people frees them up to focus on more engaging work. Less stress and more time means better work. Processes can still run well in the background. Customers will continually receive a great experience. Right now, there’s a bank of repetitive work and processes building up. This could be where your automation script-writing and RPA expertise comes into play.
Reporting to the Manager – Business Applications and working closely with business SMEs across finance, contact centre and Assets team, this will be an extremely busy role with new bots development and existing bots maintenance.
What the role will offer:
It’s a Fixed-Term opportunity until Nov 2024, with flexible working arrangements, which means you’ll have more time for the important things in life.
Other benefits include but are not limited to social clubs, 17.5% extra pay when taking annual leave, wellness leave, flexible working arrangements, on-site gyms, salary packaging, professional development and learning programs.
Key skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Experience working in IT, for example Application development, RPA or automation testing. This is a great step on your career to bigger and better IT things.
  • Qualification or Certification in IT
  • Object Oriented programming experience, along with exposure to RPA software / tools (Automation Anywhere, UIPath, BluePrism or Power Automate Desktop)
  • Understanding of ITIL service Management Framework
  • Well-developed analysis, data integration and application support skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management & communication skills
  • Well-developed prioritisation and planning skills
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Power Platform, Jira, Sharepoint or ERP is value addition.
  • Additionally, your experience in running Robotic Process Automation solutions across legacy applications, enterprise applications (SAP) and cloud applications (Salesforce) will be well received.
What the role will involve
As the RPA specialist, you’re playing that busy, important role between analysing and designing - and building and supporting automated processes. In short, it’s about identifying and measuring rule-based processes your bot will gladly welcome with open arms.
You’re the person who’s known for creating essential design documents that capture the current and target state process. The individual who writes and configures the programs that accurately mimic manual tasks performed by your colleagues. You’re the one people remember for relieving them of their grunt work.
You're building, testing and rewriting scripts so your bot can plug into existing business software and talk with it. Picture Excel macros on red bull and you’re on the right track.
You know how to make it easier for your robot to interpret and optimise a process before automating it. Then it’s about continually optimising those automated processes.
The possibilities to free up people are vast. Think of some of the manual tasks people get bogged down with. Ticket-logging. The lifting and shifting of emails. Populating those emails into spreadsheets. Monitoring mailboxes. Never a dull moment shall pass their desks again.
In your role, you’ll also be monitoring run-times, performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and spotting other opportunities that’ll free up your fellow workers.
To get there, you know you'll have to gather reoccurring questions people will ask. Then fine-tune the answers your bot may not be able to grasp on its first attempt. Running workshops to capture those Q&As will help you identify, prioritise and recommend the automated processes.
Why might you consider this opportunity?
At Water Corporation, you’ve a number of opportunities in front of you. Whether that’s moving into a future strategic role, business process improvement / continuous improvement or even innovation, you can play a significant part in influencing the strategic direction of a growing business.
You’ve got access to a stack of tools here to help you perform your work to a high level. You’d be joining a friendly, growing team packed with expertise. If learning’s your thing, you won’t be short of opportunities to develop your knowledge.
Apply: If you are interested in the above opportunity, please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.
As part of the recruitment process you may be required to complete pre-employment screening which may include a medical, qualification check, police clearance and Australian working rights check.
