Form of workThe Murchison Shire is currently seeking an experienced Roller/Loader Operator on a full time basis.
The successful applicant would join our construction crew in the completion of road works at various locations within the Shire, operating both rollers and at times a loader. Minimum of current HR licence is required.
The construction crew camp out 90% of the year, with our swings consisting of 100 hours per fortnight- one week Monday through to Thursday and the following week Monday through to Saturday. An air-conditioned caravan, power, water, internet and TV are provided at camp.
The successful applicant will also be provided with an unfurnished, air-conditioned residence within the Murchison Settlement, with the Shire meeting all costs associated with power, water and gas utilities. Home internet services with an allocation of data and Foxtel services at a reduced cost also form part of the package. A free freight service from Geraldton to the Settlement operates weekly.
The Murchison Settlement is located 300kms from Geraldton, on the Carnarvon Mullewa Road between Mullewa and Gascoyne Junction. The area is remote with the Settlement consisting only of the Shire’s Council office and works depot, a roadhouse and caravan park, community centre, museum and staff houses.
An hourly rate of between $32.00 - $37.00 ($83,200 - $96,200 per annum for 100hrs per fortnight) plus camping out allowance is on offer. Range depends on qualifications and experience.
All applicants must hold at a minimum a current HR licence (preferably HC or MC) and be able to pass a medical, drug and alcohol test.
