In the past, improving our Pipelines and CI Jobs has been a responsibility shared by Cloud, Site Reliability, and the Software team, however, this is where you come in.
We aim to make a significant investment in this area and build a team dedicated to improving CI Pipeline speed and reliability, optimising CI Platform costs, expanding CI Features, as well as educating and uplifting Technology Staff on all things CI.
Success in this role will mean a marked improvement in the speed and reliability of our CI Pipelines and our Software Engineers singing your praise - you’ll quickly become the most liked person in the Technology department!
Where and how you can work
Ideally, this role will be located in Brisbane (HQ), Australia. We value a flexible work environment and support a hybrid working model, allowing employees to spend two days a week at the office, ensuring work-life balance and individual preferences.
Your day-to-day.
- Helping code get to production faster and with greater confidence.
- Embracing the mantra of “make the right way the easy way” such that developers will naturally follow our best practices.
- Standardising our approach to deploying code.
- Mastering our CI/CD Pipelines & platforms (e.g. Gitlab CI, Jenkins, etc).
- Strong focus on Kubernetes and containerization.
- All things AWS, terraform or equivalent.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
- Communication skills to allow you to work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into a project to deliver a solution.
- Project management skills so you can drive your projects to the finish line.
- Ability to work autonomously and investigate and pitch new ideas to solve problems we might not even have yet.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills allowing you to work with people from various teams and various subject matter experts.
- Ability to write Documentation/Processes and convey technical information concisely.
What you’ll bring
To help you get into the game and be set up for success in this role, you will come with broad skills and experience covering:
- Strong experience with CI/CD Pipeline tools (especially Gitlab CI/CD).
- Cloud (especially AWS).
- Kubernetes and containerization (e.g. Docker).
- Terraform (or equivalent).
- The software development lifecycle.
