As the Rooms Division Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and seamless operation of our hotel's Rooms Division, including front office, housekeeping, and engineering. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead a dedicated team.
Your day to day
Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:
- Manage / Support day-to-day operations of the Front Office, Housekeeping and Engineering departments including preparing/overseeing the department rosters in line with the Hospitality Industry General Award.
- Ensure the Hotel's key metrics are met and exceeded through engagement initiatives to drive revenue/increase loyalty recognition/meet hotels energy and cleanliness targets/ improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Train, mentor and motivate colleagues to deliver exceptional service and uphold brand standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall guest experience.
- Conduct / support leaders with recruitment and onboarding practices.
- Work closely with the finance team to set, monitor and realign your departmental budgets including managing payroll costs.
- Monitor the performance of employees and initiate disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy as required.
- Resolve guest complaints in a prompt and professional manner and in accordance with established service recovery guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Respond to guest comments through the guest feedback systems.
- Ensure Fire Life Safety procedures are followed, coordinate employee and guest evacuation/notification in the event of an emergency.
- Ensure the IHG Security processes for security of monies, credit and financial transactions, and guest security are followed.
- Maintain a high standard of Work Health & Safety within your departments.
- Document and record all incidents involving guests or employees, or other relevant events, on the appropriate reporting systems.
- Create the perfect working environment for your team to thrive and driving collaboration between departments.
What we need from you:
- 4+ years' guest service/ hotel experience with two years in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to analyse data and implement strategies to drive results and improve efficiency.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for exceeding guest expectations.
- Valid WA Driver's License.
- Approved Manager Certification (WA).
- Full Australian working rights.
