About the Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for a suitably experienced professional within the Engineering team for the Iona Gas Plant – Lochard’s premiere gas storage and processing facility.
Being a solution driven professional, you will take ownership of ensuring asset reliability through a combination of proactive and reactive technical solutions concerning Lochard’s rotational equipment. You will leverage your technical expertise and experience to provide certainty to the business around asset reliability as well as being responsible for the continued maintenance plan of the relevant assets. You will build and maintain strong relationships with Operations, other internal business units and Contractors as you assist the team in achieving milestones and other key objectives.
This role requires time spent onsite, so you must be prepared for frequent travel to Port Campbell.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop annual budgets for asset areas under your ownership based on equipment strategies and prioritised follow on work
- Lead cultural change to ensure reliability is second only to safety
- Develop and lead the implementation of reliability improvement tools and programs into the Operation
- Lead the reliability/condition monitoring program and ensure improvement plans are in place to improve Rotating Equipment reliability and cost efficiency
- Lead and coordinate equipment strategy development utilising, together with operations, appropriate applications of RCM/SRCM/FMECA techniques
- Provide specialist mechanical engineering advice to site, liaising with external specialists as necessary
- Keep abreast of best practices in mechanical reliability engineering, advise and promote the application of such best practices
- Lead the overall hardware bad actor programme. Provide technical leadership in the mechanical bad actor programme.
- Ensure equipment life maintenance plans, equipment strategies and preventative maintenance routines for assets are appropriately maintained in accordance with best practices and managed properly within CMMS
- Ensure equipment strategies enhance the economic life-cycle of equipment, maximising production availability and providing optimal preventative maintenance work which can be performed in a planned manner
- Identify and diagnose potential and existing reliability problems and opportunities through working collaboratively with the Operations and Maintenance teams
- Develop, improve and report performance measures on equipment failure rates, equipment condition, equipment expenditure and lost production opportunity related to equipment performance
- Provide technical expertise to Root Cause Analysis associated with rotating assets
- Manage existing and potential reliability problems within the Risk Management framework
- Ensure equipment capability fits within production plans
- Assist the maintenance team in the development and documentation of equipment operating and maintenance procedures
About You
Exceptional communication, a fine eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously are essential to the successful delivery of this role and as such we’re expecting a proven track record in all three.
Seasoned Rotational Equipment Engineer with a proven track record in the gas industry. Proficient in the intricate workings of rotating machinery, specializing in maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure peak performance and reliability. With 7+ years of hands-on experience, adept at diagnosing and rectifying issues swiftly to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Passionate about continuous improvement, leveraging technical expertise to drive innovation and uphold industry standards.
Ideally you will have:
- Extensive experience working as a Rotational Equipment Engineer - a minimum of 7 years experience including experience in the Hydrocarbon industry.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree (or Institution of Engineers Australia approved equivalent).
- In depth knowledge of project management processes
- Strong working knowledge of engineering and procurement systems and procedures
