Seeking: Rubber Chemist - Defence Projects
Day to Day Responsibilities include:
- Develop rubber formulations, including mixing and moulding procedures and testing to confirm relevant properties, and predict the properties of finished products
- Analyse and resolve productivity and quality concerns in Mixing, Extrusion and Moulding areas
- Evaluate new customer specifications and specify suitable materials to achieve the required technical outcomes
- Specify appropriate materials and processes to enable completion of product quotations
- Evaluate materials from alternative suppliers to ascertain their quality and recommend their usage as alternatives to current suppliers
- Evaluate and assist in the resolution of quality and production concerns.
- Participate in QOS teams, improvement projects, problem-solving teams, internal audits, occupational health and safety teams and any such committees as appropriate
- Maintain the master register of laboratory test equipment and ensure that all test equipment is calibrated as required (QL230)
- Maintain a set of material Safety Data Sheets of all potentially hazardous material used on the site, and ensure their currency, legibility and availability to applicable employees
- Act as authorized signatory for NATA, and issue NATA – endorsed reports in accordance with NATA’s scope of accreditation
- In co-operation with the Lead Chemist, supervise the day to day activities of the -Laboratory Technical Assistants
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar role.
- Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectivel
- Computer literate
- PR or NZ/Australian Citizenship
- Car & Licence
