Job Description:

To raise achievement of Aboriginal students and Children and Young People in Care (CYPC) in literacy and numeracy an aboriginal Learner Achievement Leader’s Resource (ALALR) and Learner achievement CYPC Resource (LACYPCR) with associated quality tools has been developed. Aligned with the departments school improvement planning cycle, these resources will ensure that every Aboriginal student and CPYC can receive individual support and extension necessary for them to improve their results in reading, writing and numeracy. This complements the school improvements model and is a key aspect of the Aboriginal Education Strategy (2019-2029) and CYPC Action Plan.

The implementation Leads are responsible for working as a team support the high-quality implementation of the ALALR and LACYPCR and associated quality tools, particularly through intensive support for school leaders. They will be responsible for explaining the ALALR and LACYPCR and providing advice as to how they can be implemented effectively. Working strategically together and with the Assistant Director, Review, Improvement and Accountability and the Project Lead,Targeted Learner Achievement, the Implementations Leads will contribute to quality assurance processes and evaluation of strategies to ensure ongoing effectiveness of strategies employed and a consistently high quality of adoption across the state.

The Implementation Lead will have strong school leadership experience, high levels of knowledge about school improvement, particularly in relation to improving outcomes for Aboriginal students and CYPC and have a demonstrated solution focused approach. They will actively contribute to a collaborative and positive tea, culture and will forge strong relationships with each other and with all key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Essential: A tertiary qualification in an education field

Special Conditions:

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
