About the role
The Assistant
Director, Employee Management Services is responsible for
leading high performing teams to assist the department to
manage unsatisfactory performance; injuries under the
worker’s compensation legislation for department
employees; ethical conduct matters (including employee
complaints) and unplaced employees.
With a strong
focus on human centered approaches to contemporary
workforce issues, the Assistant Director will proactively
work to identify opportunities in the case management of
employees for the different workforce cohorts that enable
effective support for individuals and improvement in
departmental outcomes, while maintaining flexibility and
building the department’s reputation as an employer
of choice.
The Assistant
Director will understand the priorities across the
department’s broader agenda and will foster
multidisciplinary ways of working to ensure employee case
management outcomes reflect the future direction of the
department.
The importance
of effective employee case management to the organisation
means that this role will develop and maintain a broad
network of stakeholders to ensure perspectives are
understood and that the various employment conditions, when
operationalised, will work cohesively and in the best
interests of employees and children and young
people.
Qualifications
and competencies:
Strong
leadership and management skills, with proven success in
developing high-performing teams and effectively
implementing change.
In-depth
knowledge and experience in providing highly effective case
management using human centered approaches.
Proven high
level interpersonal and negotiation skills with
flexibility, resilience, compassion and discernment within
a complex, multidisciplinary and collaborative working
environment.

Special
Conditions:
The
successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human
Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to
being employed which is required to be renewed every five years
before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake
RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect
- Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended
course which will be required to be updated every three
years.
