One that is equitable and prioritises learning and wellbeing.Together we will make our education system the best it can be.When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.About the roleThe Director will lead the department's development and coordination of high-quality policy and strategic positioning advice to the Chief Executive and Minister on national strategic policy priorities.Working to the Executive Director, and in direct support of the Chief Executive and Minister, the Director has responsibility for the design, leadership and continuous improvement of the department’s intergovernmental relations function. This includes providing direction on policy priorities and strategy, major policy and funding reform, advice to the Chief Executive and Minister to shape national policy, and directing as required improvements to supporting business systems, processes and relationships.This role works with external partners and develops effective working relationships with other governments.The Director will also be responsible for ensuring that the department has in place all relevant supporting processes and operations in coordinating, negotiating, and implementing National Relations and national policy projects and initiatives, across governance, project management, relationship management and engagement.Qualifications and competencies:
- In-depth knowledge and experience in delivery of responsive policy advice and strategic planning processes in a broad and complex educational context.
- Demonstrated understanding of social policy and the political landscape, and other relevant factors pertinent to the South Australian public education system.
- Proven high level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in achieving change through collaborative practice across various platforms and disciplines.
