180-200k Package + Excellent BenefitsHR Director Job Overview:Our highly respected UK-based client delivers HR support, tools, and consultancy on a global scale. To meet the needs of a preferred client, they have an exciting opportunity for a talented HR Director to provide strategic HR support to both Australia and Japan. Reporting directly to the board, this pivotal role requires a deep understanding of Australian and Japanese legislation, as well as cultural sensitivity and experience in managing teams across these regions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a US HR team to align local strategies with global objectives while driving excellence in HR practices.HR Director Key Responsibilities:
- Provide HR Director level support to Australia and Japan, overseeing all HR activities and initiatives.
- Work closely with Japanese teams, demonstrating cultural understanding and navigating potential challenges.
- Travel regularly to Japan to support local teams and ensure effective HR operations.
- Collaborate with the US HR team to develop and implement HR strategies tailored to local needs.
- Offer expert advice on HR, learning and development, employment law, and HR policy.
- Develop and implement local employment policies in consultation with the US HR team.
- Manage HR processes from start to finish, including people management, policies overhaul, and handling complex employee relations issues.
- Ensure legal compliance across all HR activities in both regions.
- Circa 40 employees equally split across both regions.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR leadership roles, with a focus on international HR management.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian and Japanese legislation and HR best practices.
- Proven experience working with Japanese teams, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and effective communication.
- Ability to travel to Japan regularly, with flexibility for occasional travel within Australia.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with the US HR team and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage HR processes independently and drive results in a stand-alone role.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; additional HR certifications preferred.
- Experience working within Europe is advantageous but not mandatory.
