About the Office for Early Childhood Development
The Office for Early Childhood Development has been formed with a clear mandate. To create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia. As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce children’s developmental vulnerability in the years before school.
This includes leading reforms to quality preschool for all three and four-year-olds, supporting for families in the first 1000 days of a child’s life and implementing workforce reforms.
About the role
The Executive Director of Policy and Provision reports directly to the Chief Executive. It assumes a pivotal role in the realm of early childhood education, offering strategic leadership and expertise that spans policy formulation, demand assessment, and Provision planning.
This multifaceted role encompasses the integration of strategic planning, data analysis, policy formulation, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders. The Executive Director ensures the facilitation of well-informed strategic decision-making and planning for preschool services, provides policy analysis and advice related to infrastructure and local planning, to deliver on the Government’s commitment to expand the availability of preschool in South Australia.
Furthermore, this role actively contributes to the development of strategies to support the strategic allocation of funding, all of which collectively serve as pillars for the delivery of expanded preschool as part of the larger early childhood development agenda in South Australia.
Your Contribution:
You will be tasked with providing an effective balance between meeting strategic and current planning and Provision program reform requirements, with the need to build significant internal and external engagement to support a new agency and function. You will lead the Office’s work in analysis and advice related to state-wide preschool supply and local planning, including by providing authoritative advice on Policy and strategy to deliver an expansion of preschool.
About you:
Adept in strategic planning, policy formulation, funding and infrastructure strategy you will have demonstrated ability to lead strategic coordination and advice to support the planning and delivery of preschool places and services across the state. This experience will enable you to successfully oversee the Policy and Provision of preschool across providers and with a view to maintaining quality.
Crucially, you will be an executive accomplished in cultivating and navigating relationships with government agencies and others integral to the seamless delivery of strategic service and preschool infrastructure planning.
