Your Role
As Health and Safety Advisor, you are responsible for assisting with the continuous improvement and implementation of our clients health and safety management system. Your key focus is to foster a safe working environment for all and to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and all industry and legislative standards.
Our client holds their orchards to the highest of standards. This role will see you checking all areas of operation during throughout the year and during harvest across orchards located between Mildura VIC and Darlington Point NSW.
Reporting to the General Manager - Health, Safety & Sustainability, you will be working closely with the Farm Management and internal safety teams in influencing a safe working culture on the farm and off the farm.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to -
- Coordinating the planning, execution and reviewing of WHS-related modules, training programs and inductions delivered to internal employees and casual labour-hire employees
- Assess the existing WHS policies and procedures and suggest areas of improvement in ensuring a zero-harm workplace
- Maintaining and monitoring the internal safety systems, compliance legislation, process management and other safety-related tasks as required
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with internal employees across the business in influencing the WHS Act and Safe Work Practices
- Taking ownership of compliance and safety audits in line with safety management systems and Return to Work Programs
About You
Our ideal candidate will come from a strong OH&S background, ideally with experience across the agriculture sphere, including exposure to the diverse nuances of harvest.
Our key criteria are as follows.
- Minimum Cert IV in OHS
- Current Driving Licence
- Experience in risk assessments, hazard inspections, auditing
- Dedicated to safety and continuous improvement
- Experience in high level incident investigations
- Aware and capable of developing and implementing industry-standard health and safety systems
- Microsoft office and computer skills are essential
