For a Safety and Rehabilitation Officer to join the team at IntoWork Australia.

The Role:
The role of Safety and Rehabilitation Officer with lntoWork Australia is an exciting career opportunity for a qualified individual who is passionate about health and safety, injury and claims management and return-to-work planning.
IntoWork is committed to achieving best practice in the area of health and Safety and worker's rehabilitation across the IntoWork Group of businesses. Working closely with the Safety and Rehabilitation Coordinator and within a small team, the aim of the position is to provide a consistent approach to health and Safety and worker rehabilitation services at IntoWork and across the Group. The position's focus is the effective implementation of health and safety systems, injury and claims management and Rehabilitation services across IntoWork businesses.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Contribute to a safe and healthy workplace Group wide by actively promoting best practice and monitoring compliance with responsibilities and obligations.
- Provide assistance to businesses in conducting hazard identification, risk assessments and incident investigations for the purposes of risk mitigation and continual improvement.
- Provide information and advice to businesses on health and safety compliance in all operational areas.
- Maintain health and safety data and provided performance reports as requested.
- Report on and efficiently and thoroughly record all incidents and injuries.
- The implementation and monitoring of the Group Rehabilitation Policy and Procedure.
- Promote the benefits of effective return to work planning and Rehabilitation in the workplace.
- Assist operational management to effectively implement and manage their rehabilitation responsibilities.
- Maintain the skills and knowledge required to perform the role of Rehabilitation and Return to Work
Other Duties
- Working cooperatively with management in the preparation of draft policies and procedures within the area of responsibility.
- Provide reports of activities in areas of responsibility to the IntoWork Risk Manager.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, relevant agencies, statutory authorities and other key stakeholders for the effective implementation of the IntoWork Workplace Health and Safety/Rehabilitation Programs.
- Providing fee-for-service and contract delivery for internal and external clients related to health and Safety and WorkCover commensurate with expertise.
Education & Accreditation
- Certificate IV in Health and Safety.
- Relevant state Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator certification
Skills/Experience
- 3 years' experience in WorkCover claims management, workplace rehabilitation and return to work planning.
- Experience with health and safe legislation and worker's compensation systems in multiple jurisdictions is highly desirable.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed computer skills with advanced competency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong decision making, analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Please note- this is a three month contract role
