Role Purpose
The Safety Data Specialist role will oversee, report and maintain WHS systems and dashboards, providing accurate data reporting on incidents, safety trends, workers compensation, EAP utilisation and other key safety metrics to a range of stakeholders.
In addition to your reporting and analysing of WHS data, you will also provide support in other WHS programs & initiatives. You will be regarded as an SME, interacting with all levels in the organisation as well as providing operational WHS support and advice.
To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in the WHS sector which is complemented with exceptional IT skills, organisational skills, superior communication skills and a thorough knowledge of applicable legislation.
Your duties will involve but are not limited to:
- Perform data extraction, analytics and develop safety reports for a broad range of stakeholders including the senior Executive Team.
- Act as a System Administrator for the Safety Systems, providing analysis and interpretation of WHS related data.
- Input data into Safety Databases and systems as required.
- Provide analysis and resolution of third level support issues and provide advice and support to development and technical teams in diagnosing, documenting, and resolving issues.
- Research and remain current on identified trends.
- Assisting with other WHS projects e.g. safety module review, noise assessments & review of ergonomics
To be considered for this role, it is essential for candidates to demonstrate the following:
- Formal Tertiary Qualifications in Work Health and Safety.
- Developed expertise in occupational health management demonstrated with a minimum of 5 years practical WHS experience.
- Substantial experience in analysing and reporting on WHS data sets. Excel skills, requires substantive experience in generating reporting tables, dashboards, pivot tables and graphs.
- Highly developed communications and facilitation skills including the ability to engage with people at all levels of an organisation to broker the achievement of WHS outcomes including executive teams.
- Hold a current NSW Driver’s License and the ability to travel.
